We ALL have that one junk room..

I'm embarrassed to post it, but here it is.... our junk room. Before we had our son, this downstairs bedroom was used as our 'catch all' room. You know, "Hurry, people are coming over, throw everything in that room and shut the door!"

Although I'm sure Brayden would love to play with all the random junk in the room, I started to get to work on a kid friendly playroom. My dilemma... SO MANY CHOICES to choose from! Did I want a more neutral color that could change with him? Or a fun, vibrant color? Cars or dinosaurs? I wasn't quite sure, so I went to Home Depot and bought some gray paint. It's just paint, right? I can always paint over it if I didn't like it. Annnd that's just what I did. It started out a pretty gray color, but it just wasn't right. Next step, find a bright blue to match the master plan -- that I didn't have yet.

Okay, painting is done. But, it still needed something. Stripes, a chalkboard, and rain gutter bookshelves ( a total space saver)! Ohhhh, the dreaded stripes that I swore to myself I would never do again. But, that's exactly what this room needed.
Behr Paint Colors:
Yellow - Twenty Carat
Green - Hidden Meadow
Orange - Blaze Orange
Blue - Aqua Spray

Next up, new floors! The best part about getting new floors was that I didn't have to be careful while painting. Let's face it, nobody likes to cover the floors while painting!
BEFORE

AFTER
While we're at it, let's try out some Rust-Oleum magnetic paint! What little boy doesn't want to be able to stick magnets to his wall!? Well, I'm sure all little boys do. But, mine will actually be encouraged to write on his wall (with chalk) and figure out which objects are magnetic.

BRING ON THE DECOR...

I needed something to set the TV on, I search for something cute and practical! This shelf
can be used as a TV stand and can store toys. While browsing, I came across this awesome chalkboard table. He's going to love it [and destroy it] eventually!

Since the floors are new, I decided it's best to cover them with an awesome rug.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE.....
This is my favorite part of the room!

In my opinion, the hardest part of decorating a room is finding the perfect pictures to add that final finishing touch! You can imagine my excitement when I came across these custom pictures & wall decal. They are just PERFECT!
